Archive, retention and recovery
Choose how long a copy of your mail is kept and who can recover it.
Open DLP
Choose Protect, then DLP. Set how long X-Protection keeps a copy of messages, within what your plan allows, and whether the change also applies to mail already archived.
Know the archive
Archive & recovery holds an encrypted copy of mail with legal holds. Recovery of deleted mail follows the recovery mode.
Choose the recovery mode
An Owner sets it under Settings, Mail connection. Strict needs Recovery desk approval, direct lets a person with the right recover (every use recorded and the owner told) and off disables recovery.
